Reaching the Broken in Heart and Downcast
Soul
Psalms 42:5 - Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou
in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
Dearest Readers -
Be encouraged today if you are in the pits of depression and despair,
if your heart is broken, and/or your life is in such disarray you've become lost on life's journey, that you
can put your hope in God and He will bring you through. Through faith in His Son, Jesus, you not only will
see the Light at the end of your tunnel but He will bring you out with a new song in your heart and praise on
your lips. For the help of His countenance is all we really need. He is our answer for life and all of life's
pinnacles and pitfalls. He is our hope when hope seems lost. He is Love to us, unconditional and without
condemnation, when it seems the world has forsaken us. Truly He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother
and He will carry you when you are not able to carry yourself. He will lift you up and bless you at the
weakest of times and be an ever-present Guide in your darkest of times. Yes, in your midnight hour He stands
with you. Take hold His hand and believe His love this moment and He will make something beautiful out of
your life. Take your eyes off the pain and focus on Him, trust Him, lean on Him. He is able to bear your load
and He will give you rest.
Personally, I came to know the Lord and gave Him my heart at a very young age. To seek the Lord and serve the Lord
were things I cherished early on. I have always been quick to give positive words to those around me and this has
grown into a calling to inspire and motivate. A good word given to someone in a time of need can bring as much
comfort as a healing balm or a soothing salve. Taking time to share the love of God, offering words of hope and
help, this is what true faith is all about. And through my own personal pain and loss, the Holy Spirit has shown me
that common words, spoken plainly in love and in due season to a wounded soul can change a life. I am a firm
believer in Godly exhortation and just simply reaching out to others with a positive outlook, perhaps some
motivational words, anything to reach the heart of another that is broken, feeling defeated or overcome by darkness
and pain. Thus, the purpose of this website is to provide faith, hope and inspiration to anyone that might be
struggling with life’s issues, looking for direction on their personal journey, or just want to read more about the
richness of the love of God and His constancy in every life through the sacrifice of His son, Jesus. To love my
neighbor, that is my vocation, and there is no unemployment (Dr. Jerry
Taylor).
Every article that I write is a sweet-smelling, savory mixture of man’s struggle with life’s issues and God’s
unfailing love and mercy, heaping with a good measure of God’s glorious grace that so few can adequately explain.
We may stumble through life at times and feel lost and alone, but then God reveals Himself to us, and most often in
quite unexpected ways. Just when we think we might have crossed some imaginary line, when we think God can’t redeem
the mess we’ve made of our lives, He shows up in the smile of a friend, inspiration words from another, the hug
we’ve so longed for through a loved one, or perhaps a kind act from a total stranger. God is always faithful and
always on time, that being His time of course. Yes, so many of us question His timing. We wonder why He wasn’t
there sooner? But to everything there is a season, like seedtime and harvest, and when the way is not clear we must
wait. His word says “Be still and know that I am God”, (Psalm 46:10a, KJV) and so we wait. His way will
always serve us best.
Besides writing spiritually encouraging articles, I am also a very prolific writer of inspirational
poems and have had numerous selections published over the years. I have added 3 e-books of inspirational poetry
on this website and my prayer is that these poetic expressions of God’s love and faithfulness will bless
you as you read them as much as it blessed me to write them. I have written two daily devotionals
titled "Songs In The Night", a 30-day devotional for inner healing for the broken heart and wounded spirit, the
soul that is in turmoil and distress, and "The Oil Of Anointing" which is a 31-day devotional written to
encourage the disquieted soul, those who may be sorely depressed and discouraged. They are now available
on the Inspirational Books And Poetry Page of this web site, amazon.kindle, amazon.com, createspace estore,
etc. Both devotional books intensely relate that the journey with our Savior from brokenness to
wholeness is a richly rewarding experience, a time of spiritual revelation, a time to let God be all He wants
to be in your life, and help you in ways you never expected. With God all things are possible
and it is not His desire that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
Every reference to scripture or inclusion of
