A Friend On The Seas
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be
healed. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
I said a prayer for you today as I sensed your despair.
I asked the Lord to hold you close with tender, loving care.
I felt your loneliness and pain and once again I prayed
that God would reach the heart of you in His most kindest way.
I asked Him to meet every need and every care release
that you might find the strength to stand and feel His perfect peace.
And for your soul, that lonely seemed, I asked Him to befriend
that solitude might melt away as cometh from a friend.
I prayed He’d dry your tears and ease the sorrow in your heart,
heal your every brokenness with mercy He imparts.
I felt you could not find your way amidst your storm-tossed sea,
so I asked Jesus’ light to shine from every part of me.
I prayed His words would touch my lips that I might let you know
how much He loves you and longs for you to be completely whole.
I prayed He’d let you feel His warmth through these hands of my own,
that you might know He’s always there and never be alone.
And as you see His faithfulness and learn of His meekness and love,
may your heart be truly changed indeed and filled with His goodness above.
May every step you take from this day forth bring you closer to Him,
as angels rejoice in heaven today for you, my brother, my friend.
