Words Of Inspiration | Sowing In Peace
Reaping In Joy
James 3:18 And the
fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
Dear Friends: How important it is to live in peace to the best of our
ability. How crucial is the aspect of a peaceful coexistence at home, at work, and ultimately with our God. In
a world of wars and rumors of wars, economic turmoil, financial downturns, devastations in nature, the soul
needs an anchor and this anchor is Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Through the anointed word of God and searching
Holy scriptures for Godly truths, may these inspiration words bless you and encourage you in your spiritual
life.
Life will happen whether we believe in God or not. It will continue to rain on the just and the unjust alike.
Scripture says in Hosea 10:12 - Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break
up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Yes what a
difference to have faith in God, to believe in and receive His ultimate sacrifice to reconcile the sinner back to
Him, for faith in God changes the negative to a positive. Faith in God gives hope where hope has been lost and
disillusionment has set in. Faith in God is a second chance when we have failed and given up in frustration. So
seek the Lord with all that you have and all that you are, spirit, soul, and body, and turn not to the right or to
the left until He come and rain righteousness upon you.
Beloved, if you are at peace in your heart and at peace with God your footing is secure and your way will make for
peace in the lives of others, for we cannot sow that which we do not possess. We cannot sow discord among our
brethren and expect a happy coexistence. We cannot be party to gossip and strife and not expect upheaval in return.
Scripture says in James 4:16 - For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and
every evil work. It is generally accepted by most that we reap what we sow, and oftentimes our lack of peace and
unrest is simply due to what we have been sowing. It is our duty as believers to choose what makes for peace as
much as lies within our ability to do so.
Scripture says in Proverbs 22:8 - He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity. Is there any
lasting value in vanity, or is there any value period? It is fleeting and profits us nothing. But scripture further
states in Proverbs 21:21 - He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life,
righteousness and honor. And this life of righteousness and honor, is this not what most of us would desire for our
lives and the lives of our loved ones? If we are following after righteousness and mercy we will not be sowing
seeds of anger, seeds of division through gossip and strife, or seeds of discord in any fashion among our brethren.
Think about it momentarily. Meditate on it briefly. If we are truly following after righteousness and mercy, we
will have mercy on those around us.
To have a peaceful coexistence we must be merciful to others shortcomings and failures just as Jesus is merciful to
our own. To sow in peace and reap in joy, we must be willing to avoid useless confrontations for the sake of always
being right. If we are to have peace and joy we must dispense with the critical spirit, or our quickness to judge
others. Psalms 126:5 says if we sow in tears we will reap in joy. Assuredly, choosing peace over strife with
contentious people, or choosing peace when we have been rejected or abused, mistreated and betrayed, will produce
many tears. For the moment it will not seem to be joyful, but ultimately sowing precious seeds of peace will
doubtless produce a harvest of joy for scripture says the peacemakers are blessed and will be called the children
of God (Matthew 5:9).
Consider the words of inspiration in the following: Psalms 85:8-13 - I will hear what God
the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to
folly. 9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. 10 Mercy and truth are
met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. 11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and
righteousness shall look down from heaven. 12 Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield
her increase. 13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps. My friends, what
great love, and what a complete picture of being saved, living in peace, and reaping in joy. Truly righteousness is
looking down from heaven and the Lord is giving that which is good to each one that is striving for peace and
fellowship among the brethren in the love and mercy of the Lord.
The grace of our Lord be with you
all.
